Decarcerate Alameda County Budget Training 101 

Our annual County Budget 101 Training was be held on Saturday, June 5th from 11:00am-12:30pm. Watch and use handouts to learn budget basics and strategize how we can get our budget demands met: moving money away from the sheriff and jail, and into life-affirming resources.

​Decarcerate Alameda County Roundtable: Locked Treatment Facilities

As we fight to decarcerate our jail and build community-based mental health care, Decarcerate Alameda County (DAC) has been interested in taking a position on locked treatment facilities. We hosted a roundtable discussion on December 9, 2020 with our allies who have expertise and lived experiences on this topic. The panel was moderated by DAC steering member Tash Nguyen.

The National Lawyers Guild – SF Bay Area has a free Know Your Rights Hotline for anyone who would like to discuss the coronavirus or conditions inside Santa Rita Jail. This number can accept calls from jail as well as from community members who are formerly-incarcerated or who have loved ones inside the jail. The hotline will be staffed by legal workers and community members who have been trained in jail policies, individual advocacy, and the history of prisoner solidarity movements. 

​If you are interested in becoming a hotline worker, please fill out this volunteer form!
